Valley Striders   Fell Championship 2017 Rules   Updated 18 Feb 17

2017 fell champs includes 15+ races (5+S, 5+M and 5+L as usual), but new rules (from 2014) will make it easier for anyone running fell races regularly to qualify. This year the races are:

• Shorts: Ilkley Moor, AS, 26/2/17, Jack Bloor, BS, 9/5/17, Otley Chevin, BS, 7/6/17, Beamsley Beacon, BS, 22/6/17, Danefield Relay, CS(?), 4/7/17, Addingham Gala, BS, 8/7/17, Harriers v Cyclists, BS, 18/11/17,
• Mediums: Stanbury Splash, BM, 15/1/17, Dick Hudsons, BM, 27/4/17, Fairfield Horseshoe, AM, 13/5/17, Ilkley Trail, CM, 29/5/17, Bingley Show, BM, 22/7/17, Withins Skyline, BM, 8/10/17, Shepherds Skyline, BM, 4/11/17, Round Hill, CM, 6/8/17,
• Longs: Wadsworth Trog, BL, 4/2/17, Heptonstall, BL, 19/3/17, Three Peaks, AL, 29/4/17, Yorkshireman Half, BL, 10/9/17, Tour of Pendle, AL, 18/11/17,

Rules:

• Best 5 races to count
• Any FRA race to count, but bonus of 5% for running nominated races. For non-nominated races participants to notify league compiler (Steve Webb of race, date, length, category, winner’s time their time) if they wish to claim points,
• Existing factors of 1.1 for A and 0.9 for C category to apply to score
• NB it is not possible to win the Fell Championship trophies unless you run at least one race in each catgory (new rule 2017)
