The Meanwood Valley Trail Junior Races will take place on 14 June 2016

The venue is Leodiensian Club, Crag Lane, off King Lane, LS17 5PR

There will be 4 events, but it is likely that we will merge races 3 and 4

  • 1 mile for school years 3-4 at 6:45pm (children younger than year 3 may enter provided their parent is confident that they can run the distance and takes responsibility for checking their child's progress around the race route)
  • 1 mile for school years 5-6 at 7:00pm
  • 2 miles for school years 7-8 at 7:20pm
  • 2 miles for school years 9-12 also at 7:20pm

There are 3 ways to enter Sorry pre-entries and registrations have now closed as we need to prepare all the entries and results spreadsheets

We would like as many people as possible to pre-enter / pre-register to save us admin on the day, hence the discounts.

All profits from the race will be donated to Lineham Farm Children's Centre. Please email if you'd like a sponsorship form. If you'd like to make "additional" donations on the night, please ask for a gift aid form so tax can be reclaimed.

Please note that we are likely to merge the year 7-8 race with the year 9-12 race due to a small number of competitors in the latter category. There will still be separate prizes for the categories.

Q. Will entries be accepted on the day?
A. Yes, ALL junior entries on the day will be accepted - but we prefer pre-entry or pre-registration.

Q. Has my entry been received?
A. If you entered and paid, please go to, there is a full list of entries on the website and you can filter by name. If you registered, there will be a full list of registrations here.

Q. ... and if I entered by post?
A. There are no postal entries!

Q. How do I get my race number?
A. All race numbers are to be picked up on the day from race HQ.

Q. Do I need to bring ID?
A. No, we will just need your name, we will have everything sorted in surname order.

Q. How do I get to the race?

Q. And parking?
A. There will be space for most people around the clubhouse. If you're late and the car park is full, please find on-street parking, it takes just 3 minutes to walk down the drive. (But please don't park on King Lane and please don't park in front of the shops or restaurant and please don't block the drives/access of the local residents).

Q. What sort of shoes should I wear?
A. All the route is fields and footpaths. Trail or fell shoes are recommended. Studded road shoes should be OK. Spikes are "possible" but note that there are stony sections and woodland sections with tree routes.
