As at the end of January a total of 6 Grand Prix events have taken place with 116 Striders racing in at least one, and 4 having done 4 events. In the “Any other half Marathon” category 25 raced in the Brass Monkey Half with Matt Hallam leading the Striders times in 1:11:49 for 26th place. We are seeing a fantastic level of participation in the PECO Cross Country races with 59 at Middleton Park and 50 at Crimple Valley Harrogate. 20 Striders took part in the Yorkshire Cross Country Championship at Lightwater Valley. Well done to Jihanna Allard 29th, Bethan Bond 38th and Myra Jones 45th. In the men’s race John Hobbs 50th, Tom Van Rossum 61st and Jon Pownall 87th.

Look out for forthcoming events Dewsbury 10k on 2 February, PECO 4 at West Park Leeds on 9th and the first Brownlee Even Splits 5k on Wednesday 26th. Ladies don’t forget the International Women’s Day race on 8 March. A number of 20 mile races take place in March including the Spen and East Hull races.  Your best time from all the 20 miler races in March count for Grand Prix points.

April will see the Baildon Boundary Way Half Marathon 5th, Guisley Gallop 12th, Vale of York 10 miles 19th and the annual 3 Peaks and London Marathon.

Please see entry details on line and note events do often sell out well in advance of race day.

There are plenty of races in the 2020 Grand Prix to get 8 from 5 categories and maximise your score.
