This update includes King of the Castle, Runners and Riders, Rivington Pike, Hoofstones, Dick Hudson’s and The Cake Race. Just typing that list brings home what interesting names we have for events in fell running and the variety of terrain and courses we can encounter. So much more imaginative than “The…Leeds…Half…Marathon” in my view! Some events are named in the memory of athletes who have passed on, and on that subject the next VS designated race is the eponymous Jack Bloor race at Ilkley on Tuesday 14 May.
