Just two Striders travelled to Ackworth for the Half Marathon held on Easter Monday morning. The course is different from when I last ran the Ackworth Half but that was some years ago. The route covered some of the same ground as the Pontefract Half and could be described as undulating although the final mile was all uphill. As the start was at the bottom of a field and the finish at the top of the same field there was a net gain in height. Strava says 212m elevation gain overall. Only 278 runners ran and the Striders results were 8th Daryl Hibberd in 1:23:14 and 102nd Chris Sawyer in 1:46:32. A tube of Jointace Gel was an unusual reward for all finshers.
